Today we have a new release, my Check Charm Socks! This is a timeless preppy inspired design perfect for everyday wear. Knitted cuff down, this all over colourwork sock features a bold plaid pattern which gives a British old school charm, ideal for lovers of a heritage or vintage look. Colour combinations are endless…for my next pair I’m thinking red and pink checks with a navy cuff/heel and toe.

Pattern: Check Charm Socks designed by Nicola Furey.
Yarn: Filcolana Arwetta 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon in shades Red clover, Slate green and Marzipan.

Socktober - Day 29 - Country Home Socks

This design was originally released back in May in soft pastel spring colours but by changing the colours and tones of the yarn the design transforms to a dark autumn street perfect for Halloween 🎃
This is the joy of colourwork! I love how each knitter can make a pattern their own through their choices and mix of colour. It also means you can knit the same pattern multiple times and get a different result. This exact colourway was a sock kit created especially for Socktober to be stocked with Knit With Me - printed pattern and yarn beautifully dyed by Shannon from Shannon Long.
I believe there are a couple of sock sets still available across the 10 kits being featured at the yarn store.

Socktober - Day 28 - Retro Bloom Socks

This floral geometric colourwork pattern becomes quite an intuitive and fun knit and would work great as a scraps buster! Each row of flowers uses 2g of 4ply yarn as the contrast colour meaning you could use up those special nuggets of yarn and change the flower colour on each motif section.

Both the pairs shown have been knitted with beautifully hand dyed yarn from the very lovely Hayley from Hayley/Duckydarlings Hand dyed yarns. who has been creating sock kits for this design in the colours shown, do check out their page and shop.

The Home for Christmas socks is a symmetrical more traditional fair isle style design knitted in candy/boiled sweet shades - think sherbet lemons, fruit drops or Rhubarb and custard! As in all my patterns to date there is only ever 2 colours used per round and they are knitted cuff down.

The Spring Getaway socks don’t have to just be for spring and I’ve seen some fun colour options over on the Ravelry
project pages. Knitted cuff down you can work the pretty colourwork section in any colours you wish. A seasonal Christmas pair is on my need to make list! Thinking a warm marl stone colour with deep red flowers/stripes and a forest green for the leaves. So many sock patterns and yarn/colour ideas and just not enough time!

Socktober - Day 25 - Woodland Joy Socks

This is one of my most popular sock patterns so here is a second chance at the discount. The bird motif is very cute with the leafy garlands which I’ve paired with a classic stripe and the heel flap and gusset gives you such a nice fit. The eye of partridge stitch pattern on the heel adds a pretty extra texture. There are some lovely alternative colour versions on the project pages over on Ravelry. Knit With Me is currently stocking kits for this design which includes the printed pattern and hand dyed yarn from Shannon Long.

ocktober - Day 24 - I’m the gingerbread man socks.

This pattern feels very appropriate with the weather we are having here in the UK. All we want to do is snuggle down on the sofa with a blanket, a good movie, cuppa and of course a gingerbread biscuit or two!

This was the seasonal design created for last year’s sock set with the lovely Nicola & Louise from Nicola & Louise. I absolutely love their hand dyed yarns under the brand Ainsworth & Prin and I’ve been lucky enough to work with them again this year on our latest kit Frosty Night Socks (a few kits are still available in my Etsy shop).

Socktober - Day 23 - Snow Day Socks

This all over colourwork design is one of my favourites. The colours used, the mix of the snowflake and chevron motifs and the opportunity to collaborate with a friend on the idea. This design was my seasonal set in 2024 working with talented yarn dyer Shannon from Shannon Long. This design is knitted cuff down, has a stitch count for 3 sizes, an easy to follow colourwork chart and a shadow wrap heel. The pattern and yarn used to make these socks is currently available as a kit in the beautiful Richmond yarn shop Knit With Me.

Socktober - Day 22 - Springtide Socks

Too good not to share twice in another colourway! I’m super proud of this pattern as it made it’s way into the Spring 2026 issue ‘Open Water’ of Laine Publishing. This is a great first colourwork sock project, no fuss around the heel, only two colours, nice short floats and would be fab in so many colour combinations.
