🍽️ Have you seen the new menu at Milton Green Café & Deli Milton Green Cafe & Deli at Applegates?

Whether you're popping in for breakfast, meeting friends for lunch or stopping for a coffee after a walk around the lake, there's plenty to choose from.

For breakfast, there's the traditional Applegates Breakfast, vegetarian and vegan options, bacon and sausage baps, avocado on sourdough with poached eggs, and a pancake stack served with bacon, fried egg and maple syrup.

If you're visiting for lunch, you'll find a good selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, wraps, paninis and toasties, along with jacket potatoes and a choice of fillings including chilli con carne, coronation chicken and prawn Marie Rose.

There are also lighter options, children's meals, cakes and pies from the deli counter, and a full range of coffees, teas, hot chocolates and milkshakes.

And of course, while you're here, you can enjoy a walk around the lake or have a browse through the independent businesses at Applegates.

One of the things that makes the antiques centre Applegates Antiques Centre at Applegates interesting is that you never quite know what you're going to find.

There’s a real mixture of furniture, collectables, vintage homeware and unusual pieces, many of which you simply wouldn't come across in an ordinary shop.

It's worth giving yourself a bit of time to look around properly. Sometimes it's the smaller things tucked away on a shelf or in a cabinet that catch your eye, rather than the pieces you notice when you first walk in.

Whether you're looking for something particular or just enjoy having a browse, Applegates Antiques is well worth a visit.

If you’re looking for somewhere different to take the dog, Applegates is worth keeping in mind.

There’s outdoor space, lake views and a more relaxed feel than a quick walk around the block.

It’s the sort of place where you can get some fresh air, have a gentle wander, and then make a bit more of the trip with a coffee or something to eat afterwards.

Bring the dog, take your time and enjoy a slower visit around the site.

Weekend plans don’t always need to be complicated.

Sometimes a walk, a coffee and something proper to eat is enough.

The Milton Green Café & Deli at Applegates has plenty if you’re calling in over the weekend — from breakfast baps, pancakes and avocado toast to coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cakes and deli counter treats.

You can make it a quick stop, or take your time with a walk around the lake before or after.

It’s a simple way to get out for a bit without needing to plan a full day.

If you haven’t had a walk around Applegates for a while, October is a lovely time to do it.

The site has more to it than just the shops. There are paths to wander, open space, trees, lake views and plenty of fresh air if you just want somewhere peaceful to stretch your legs.

It’s a nice spot for a slower visit — especially if you’re walking the dog, meeting someone for coffee, or just fancy getting out for half an hour without making a big plan of it.

After your walk, you can call into the Farm Shop, Café & Deli for a drink or something to eat, or have a look around the businesses while you’re here.

A simple autumn visit, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
