Child Safety Week

As a proud member of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA), we're committed to promoting safer homes and raising awareness of blind safety.

Child safety regulations for window blinds can come as a surprise to some homeowners. That's why it's our responsibility to ensure all blinds are supplied and installed in line with current regulations, while helping customers understand the measures designed to keep young children safe.

This Child Safety Week, take a moment to review your window coverings and ensure they comply with current child safety standards.

For more information on blind safety, visit the BBSA website or speak to a member of our team by getting in touch or visiting our showroom.

With the warmer weather here, keeping your home cool can make a real difference to your comfort.

One of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce heat build-up is through shading. By limiting direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day, you can help maintain a cooler room temperature without relying heavily on the expense of fans and air conditioning.

See below for tips from the British Blind and Shutter Association on improving heat control in your home, with shading being one of the most cost effective places to start.

If you would like more information, or looking for new blinds? Please visit our Bagendon showroom or call us on 01285 657244.

Natural light is wonderful, but it brings with it the risk of UV damage. Over time, prolonged exposure to sunlight can fade wooden flooring, damage upholstery, and diminish the vibrancy of artwork and soft furnishings.

Lined curtains—especially those with blackout or UV-resistant fabrics—act as a protective barrier. They extend the life of your interiors while still allowing you to enjoy the benefits of a well-lit space. For rooms with large or south-facing windows, full-length lined curtains offer the best protection.
