Beautifully restored antique oak sideboard, hand painted in a custom berry/magenta shade (the same colour I used on my Ercol piece), with the solid oak top sanded and left natural for a striking finish, sealed with clear Matt varnish to protect.

Two cupboards with internal shelving, two drawers with original brass handles, and a charming arched recess to the centre. Solid, well-made piece that’s come up an absolute treat.

Had a little Brasso polishing session last night and wow, what a difference! Kept all their age and character, just cleaned them right up. This sideboard’s getting the same custom paint colour as the Ercol sideboard— more updates coming as I work through the weekend 🎨 Sealed with Love

Somewhere in the hedgerow, autumn has arrived 🍂

A little mouse pauses beneath a bright red toadstool, her basket filling with blackberries and rosehips as the leaves turn gold around her. This is the Autumn plate from Royal Doulton’s Brambly Hedge Gift Collection — bone china, made in England, from Jill Barklem’s original illustrations.

I used to collect these years ago, and finding this one again felt like coming home to an old favourite. Rarer than its Summer companion, and in beautiful condition — not a chip or a crazing line in sight.

We have made it to the weekend! 🎉

My job today is to empty my Welsh dresser as I am swapping it for a sideboard. So many books, but my greatest find was my sewing labels for my cushions, I just knew I had put them somewhere safe!

Anyone else got a stash of craft bits and bobs they swore they’d never lose? 😄

This is the Ercol sideboard finished and I absolutely love it. 💗
It started with a scrap of cerise velvet ribbon, colour-matched at the paint shop. Photos honestly don’t do the colour justice in person.

This sideboard belonged to a lady who’d had it 30 years. It had been sanded and varnished before,I took it further, varnish sanded, the top has come out beautifully, then I have sealed with a clear Matt varnish.
I was a bit nervous showing her the transformation, but she loves it too.

This one’s a keeper for me though, it’s already found its home in my orangery, where it’ll be staying for many years to come.Sealed with Love

Loving how this one’s turning out! 💗 This vintage Ercol sideboard has had a bold transformation - one more coat to go and it’ll deepen even further. The natural wood top against that Cerise Pink.
