Happy Friday. I seem to be stuck on repeat!🙄 Again, I have been quiet. Feeling better didn't last long and i'm back to square 1 with face infection and pain. I hope a blood test yesterday will shed some light on what the cause is. I do know there isnt anything nasty lurking because I have recently had a clear CT scan. 🤞🤞
I escaped into my craft room and continued exploring fibres that I havent used for a long time - or ever! Creations have been slow but enjoyable, including a few Litha inspired ladies, (some available at a lower price as per my previous post). The joyful colours have been uplifting.

The fibre I used for these dresses was a one off from a supplier who's fibres I love using. It has a slightly hazy affect and is beautiful to use. These pieces are approx 19cm high( from the top of the wooden plinth to the top of her head, not hat) and have a fully needlefelted body firmly attached to the base. Good morning. What a weather change, I have had to find my slippers for sitting at my work desk! It is nice to have the fresher air but no doubt I will soon be wishing for the heat again🤪
As per my post below ( the one with Barn2yarn locks) These ladies are the first I have made incorporating a saving on the selling price. (I will be adding lower priced pieces every so often for the rest of June) .
I have been playing with different ways of creating heads and bodies and these are the first of those. They are 21cm tall which is within my full size range. They represent a £8 or £10 saving on my normal prices. These have a flower theme, poppy, daisy and sunflower and have been made with Keighleys beautiful locks for hair. I also need to thank her very much for taking some of my ladies to the show at the weekend, they sold well🥰

BLUE AND RED SOLD THANK YOU X

3 Witch ladies, each around 17cm tall. ( Measured from the top of the wooden plinth to the top of the head, not hat). Made using a needle felted body, securely attached to the base. The fibres I used for the dresses all contain linen fibres, sometimes called flax. It's a crop we grew ourselves for a while though not for fibre crafts. It was used to produce lino and car interiors. The fields looked lovely, blue in the morning and green in the afternoon as the flowers closed.

have been short on posts over the last few weeks. I just cant get my head in gear. Hopefully now I have finished with various scans and hospital visits, I can try to focus once again. I have a lot of nerve pain and swelling along my jawline, earache and my eye is joining in the party! Vertigo alters on a daily basis plus I rattle with antibiotics and pain relief, however I now know there is nothing nasty going on which is very welcome to my neurotic mind!! .
I did enjoy making up a selection of witches, and friends, using the beautifully colourful locks from . Keighley has kindly offered, as she did last year, to take some of my pieces to various fibre festivals she and Jaymi are attending this year. They are with them now in Devon along with some other pieces by customers.
Otherwise I have felt a bit aimless with my creations . I decided to focus on, after having a thorough rifle through my stash, using a variety of fibres that I haven't used for a long time - or ever!
I have such a vast selection,some of the best fibres available, so thought I would make up some ladies that I could giving a bit of a discount on (between £5 and £10 per figure). Keep an eye on the page for when I post these.😉 My enjoyment is playing with the fabulous fibres and the escapism it brings me Lx

I am ahead of myself with these ladies as my lily of the valley are just peeking through. I love the scent of this flower and it reminds me of my mum. She had a brain tumour but as it took hold she really enjoyed the perfume of these flowers. We went through lots of Yardley products.

The bluebells in the semi wild part of the garden had such a gorgeous perfume this year. They live near a self set yew tree and a dilapidated garden bench that belonged to my parents. Special to me even if the pigeons sit above it !

Hello and happy monday. It looks as if we have some beautiful weather ahead. My garden has loved the spells of lovely weather this spring and I have had some beautiful floral displays. There is always something flowering no matter the month. Winter into spring there were hellibores snowdrops and pansys, crocus, daffodils and tulips. Currently I am saying goodbye to the bluebells and forget me nots though the iris and alliums are giving me a lot of joy. The lily of the valley are peeking through and I have had several roses bloom this week and the promised warmth next week will no doubt add to the display. I love my garden though I am now limited to what I can do myself. My friend Tracey keeps it under control for me as if it was her own.
I am inspired by the garden when i'm creating my pieces and have a lot of silk and paper flowers that I can use seasonally to embellish the ladies and occasional gent I make.
