When I hold one of my handmade pieces like this, I don’t just see resin and wood.
I see the woman who started creating during one of the hardest periods of her life.
After my son was born at just 26 weeks, I struggled with PTSD. Creativity became my escape, my calm and eventually part of my healing. My seascapes took me back to my childhood in Goa — to the ocean, the waves and a place that has always felt like home.
I never imagined where those first pieces would take me.

There have been moments when I’ve questioned myself, wondered whether my little business was good enough, and compared myself with businesses far bigger than mine.
Then things like this happen.
People notice. Doors begin to open. And that little voice saying “keep going” gets a bit louder. 💙
I'm still a small business. I still make my pieces by hand. I'm still learning, juggling and dreaming bigger.
But I'm incredibly proud of how far The Chic Boutique by Clarissa has come — from something that helped me heal to a business that is beginning to be recognised beyond anything I imagined when I started.
And perhaps the most important part? I haven't forgotten why I began. £1 from every sale goes to Bliss UK through Work for Good, supporting families of premature and sick babies like mine.
So this photo isn't just me holding one of my boards.
It's me holding a reminder that sometimes the hardest chapter of your story can become the beginning of something beautiful. 🌊
