Looking back at work from earlier this year and I'm still in love with this clay and glaze combo. This bowl found a new home at Bottle Alley Art Market, and I'm tempted to make some more as it feels like the perfect Autumn vibe. Should I?

The clay is a mix of buff and smooth black (ironically not so smooth to throw by itself), turning it a rich brown with some texture and the glaze is a glossy dune. The clay eats at the colour of the glaze leaving it transparent is some spots and lighter where the glaze settled a little thicker.

Originally, I made this bowl with a small cup for matcha, hot chocolate and the like, would some more sets be of interest?

Playing with glazes and attempting to recreate this sky was such a fun experiment! Glazes are still such a mystery to me and a puzzle I am slowly picking apart.

I've started sharing my experimentations on glazeshare and it's such a treasure trove of ideas and other potter's glaze experiments too.

When I walked into the studio and saw these beauties on my shelf I was THRILLED... for all of about 5 seconds.

Come find me in a week where I'll still be sat here sanding off the bottoms!

The first thing a new potter gets taught is not to get attached to your pieces until they're out of the final firing. If only the glaze had to abide by the same rules 🥲

Only one more day till ! Here's a selection of the pieces I'll have available!

This is the first time I've collated as much of my work and to see it all together is so exciting! Hopefully the first of many markets to come.

Last week was full of lots of wins, firsts and a couple of flops!

So grateful for the wonderful community Neighbourhood Pottery Studio has fostered and seeing all the brilliant work of my fellow members this weekend just passed was so inspiring!

Lots of excitement is still to come and I can't wait to share more details soon!
