How much of the Candle should appear above the rim? Candle Tube height is a key part of the overall specification.

A fully concealed lamp creates a clean, enclosed appearance. A small amount of the lamp peeking above the rim gives a restrained detail, while an exposed flame-tip can become a more prominent feature of a chandelier, wall light or pendant.

When specifying a bespoke made-to-order Candle Tube, begin with the desired visible lamp length. Add the lampholder seating depth and the small internal clearance required for assembly, then specify the overall tube height. Confirm the fitting reference, such as E10 or E14, together with the lamp length, so the Candle Tube and Candle read as one balanced unit.

Lamp shapes, including Straight Candle, Flame-Tip and Tapered designs, alter the visual weight above the rim. Clear, Amber and Porcelain lamp glass will also change the appearance. The Tube profile and finish: Plain, Dripped or Waxed: should therefore be specified alongside the chosen Candle.
