Hello Wonky family 🌈

You may have noticed we’re a little quieter behind the scenes than usual the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, our very own Momma Wonky had a totally unexpected ambulance ride, 8 hours in resus and was then admitted to hospital with a ‘Wonky’ heart-related issue!!! More answers soon hopefully. It’s been a worrying and emotional 24 hours for our family. She’s still in hospital. 😢

As many of you know, Wonky isn’t huge. It’s a family business built with love, lots of hard work and late nights. Right now, we’re doing our best to keep everything running smoothly while supporting Momma Wonky and staying positive. 🩷

18 months ago, Wonky Candles was facing one of the hardest periods in our journey.

Many of you will remember it.

Sales had slowed, money was running out and we genuinely didn’t know whether the business would survive.

Then something incredible happened.

You showed up.

You ordered.
You shared our posts.
You told your friends and family about us.

And you saved us.

Because of you, we were able to continue creating products we love, supporting the SEN community and growing the Wonky dream.

Today we’re facing another difficult chapter.

The last few months have been tough. We’ve been making a loss, our reserves have gone, and this week a large unexpected bill landed at exactly the wrong time.

We’re not writing this for sympathy.

We’re writing this because we promised ourselves we would always be honest with the people who support us.

Something that amazes us is that Wonky now has over 50,000 followers online.

If every follower placed just ONE order a year, even if it was only a single candle, we’d be so busy we’d need to employ more staff.

We know times are tough.
