Bay Gallery London represents Aboriginal paintings from the Central Desert of Australia, and has pioneered MY COUNTRY, an Interiors collection of wallpapers, ceramic tiles & rugs in collaboration with British manufacturers & designer makers. Our pioneering MY COUNTRY Interiors collection includes a core range of wallpapers, tiles & rugs designed in collaboration with British Manufacturers. We believe in design with origin, cultural heritage and ethical business. We supply to individuals and trade. Bay Gallery Home's founder Alexandra O'Brien is an art dealer specialising in contemporary Aboriginal art collections featuring established and emerging artists from the Central Desert of Australia. O'Brien's aboriginal work is ethically sourced from the Northern Territory, Australia. The community’s work comprises bold, beautiful abstracts based on their tribal Dreamings and creation myths, featuring the landscape, the plants and animals found in the Central Desert. Aboriginal art is one of the world’s oldest art forms spanning over 50,000 years. It has been described as the last great art movement of the 20th century.
“Whenever people enter my home, which is the exhibition space, they are delighted because behind the Victorian façade there is an unexpected surprise of vibrant colour and ancient abstract art. Having lived with Aboriginal paintings for the last five years the bright colours bring joy and a sense of peace to your home. You feel like the ancient spirits are with you demanding a level of respect but protecting you at the same time.”
A large proportion of the money made from sales goes back into helping develop aboriginal community projects. O'Brien's aboriginal stock is authentically certified: without a certificate of authenticity you will not be able to on-sell the paintings via reputable dealers. Alexandra O'Brien hosts events throughout the year. If you would like to attend or to be added to the mailing list please get in touch with us via
