The Faber-Castell Pitt Graphite Matt Pencils.

These matt, deep black lead pencils produce a true matt black finish, reducing the reflection and sheen of a traditional graphite lead.

The leads are break-resistant and lightfast.

You can easily see the difference in this drawing- with traditional graphite on the left, and the new Pitt Graphite Matt on the right.

Talented pastelist, Clive Scott, is running pastel classes in Ashburton!

These workshops are held on the first Saturday of every month from 10am until 1pm at The Ashburton Society of Art rooms.

At only $25 a session, they are exceptional value!

We've had a few folk pop into us on a Saturday afternoon after going to one of Clive's classes, and everyone has raved about their morning.

We've recently unboxed the Toison D'Or Extra Soft Pastels- and they are stunning!

These pastels are highly pigmented, with a smooth, velvety laydown and are beautiful to blend with and layer.

There are over 100 colours in the range, and they are available in-store only.

This range is on clearance and each pastel is now only $3 each.

Maimeri began in Italy over 100 years ago, by two brothers: Gianni (the artist) and Carlo (the one with the chemical knowledge and know how.)

There are no waxes or additives used in these oils and the drying time is balanced with the use of safe and stable pigments.
