Thinking of all the mothers we have worked with over the years as we head into mothers day weekend. We love being apart of the (design) family and helping make a house a home!

It's the first of the month and a full moon, the last full moon of the year! Which got me thinking of how fast the year is flying by, and how much life can change.

My full-circle moment happened when I realized I never changed careers, I just changed the scale of impact. I started in New York City as a makeup artist and product developer, obsessing over how color, texture, and formulation could change how someone felt when they looked in the mirror. I learned to build things from nothing, from concept to production, and I carried that with me in everything I did.

Years later, standing in my own home, raising a neurodivergent child and fostering rescue kittens, I understood the real assignment. Beauty was never the point, belonging was.

Interior design became the place where everything connected: my eye, my systems thinking, my advocacy. Today, I design homes the way I used to design products, intentionally, compassionately, and for real life. My full circle moment was realizing I wasn’t just building spaces… I was building safety, dignity, and ease for families who need it most, for people who don’t fit the “perfect” mold.

So thank you for helping build a little dream and thank you to my dream team. Everything happens for a reason

Some trips are just trips. And then there are the ones that remind you why you do any of this.

Last month I took my son to Milan. He has a friend who lives there, a kid he met at summer camp and watching them reunite in the middle of one of the most beautiful cities in the world was something I'll carry for a long time.

For a boy with ASD who navigates the world a little differently than most, friendship is everything. Seeing him light up like that? That's the whole point.

But Milan also did what travel always does to me, it pulled me in professionally. The architecture. The materiality. The way the Italians layer texture and light and history without it ever feeling heavy. I found myself photographing doorways and fabric markets and details I'll absolutely be referencing in a client project by fall.

I've always believed that creativity doesn't live in one box. That the best design comes from a life fully lived, from travel, from connection, from showing up for the people who matter most.

This trip was both worlds at once. And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Do you ever travel somewhere and come back creatively recharged? I'd love to know where.

The biggest misconception about luxury design?

That it means more furniture.
More layers.
More “stuff.”

In reality, it’s the opposite.
It’s about identifying what’s subtly off and correcting it with precision.
The proportions.
The flow between rooms.
The way materials interact in different lighting.
The feeling you get when you move through the space.

Most people try to solve discomfort by adding.

We solve it by refining.

Sometimes that means removing.
Sometimes it means reworking the layout entirely.

But always, it’s intentional.
That’s why a well-designed home doesn’t just look better…

it feels calmer, easier, more aligned.

You can’t always explain it.
But you can feel it immediately.

Moving to Westchester, NY? Or have you already moved from the city and still haven't "finished" your home? DM me to complete your interior design spaces.
