It’s been a ride! Sadly, we will officially be closing the shop down on 12/12. I appreciate the neighborhood support of our little shop and am so glad it was part of our community.

I do want to clarify that ONLY the retail portion of the business will be closing. is thriving and will stay in our 4942 W. Irving Park Rd location. Since this summer we have changed a lot in how the space looks (and functions) to better fit our needs. Taking the shop foot print back to enhance the studio means that we will use it for client/vendor meetings and better access to natural light (a KEY part of our jobs).

FAREWELL (for now)👋 When I set out in 2021 renting our space at 4942 W. Irving Park, the studio for was the primary goal. The tiny space facing the street was a bonus. I immediately envisioned a shop of housewares that I loved picking up along the way in my travels. I had the biggest ambitions for our little shop all while wanting to both invest and contribute to my Portage Park community. I have a passion for supporting small businesses and I hoped others would as well. ⁠

Sadly, when some of our key Irving Park neighbors moved to new locations last year, the foot traffic we were used to stopped. It hasn't mattered how much heart our past co-ops have put into their semesters working on the shop's social and marketing efforts, it never really took off. ⁠
⁠
For a long time I thought the success of having a brick and mortar was what would define the brand. And then I realized that’s simply not true. The design side of the business had its best year ever, the team has grown, our projects are taking us throughout the city, North Shore and as far as Door County. Normally, I would put my head down and work harder. Sleep less. Be less present in my daily life. But something shifted this year after my hysterectomy and it forced me to hush that voice in my head that tells me to keep adding to my plate. It's time to unload something so my professional focus can be more singular and directed towards our design clients. ⁠

It's been almost 3 years to the day that I opened the shop. It makes my heart hurt to know that it didn't go as planned, and that's seeming like a very common theme this past week. ⁠

It's not farewell forever, it's farewell for now. The website will stay live. You can order online and pick-up in store. Starting 12/16, we will be open by appointment only. Come in, see us, get your holiday shopping in early (we will be having HUGE discounts on everything) and know that I thank you so much for letting us be a part of your lives these past 3 years❣️
