💚 COURT UPDATE
We are out of court and have spoken with our attorney. Unfortunately, the judge did not issue a ruling today. He said we should receive his “letter of opinion” in 7–10 days.
It feels like déjà vu… another hearing, more waiting.
The only thing holding up our otherwise-approved site plan was Stafford’s illegal demand for our campground to be “TENTS ONLY”—a restriction a judge has already rejected.
But instead of resolving that issue, Stafford has taken this fight down a twisted road of arguments over WHEN our plan was denied, WHETHER it was denied, and WHO had the authority to deny it. Make that make sense.
What Stafford is doing is working harder to keep us from reaching the heart of this case than to resolve the very issue that brought us to court. Word is out that this way of fighting has become the norm for Stafford County Government. When they make mistakes they deflect.
Honestly, it was heartbreaking to look at our one attorney, then across at Stafford County’s team of attorneys—and realize that our own tax dollars are helping fund this fight against our family’s BY-RIGHT campground.
We’re paying to defend our dream while also helping pay for the attorneys fighting to stop it. Sitting there today, that felt especially heavy. 💔
THANK YOU to everyone who came out today and everyone who prayed, shared our posts, and sent encouraging messages. Your support means so much to our family!
We’ll share the ruling when we receive it. Please keep us in your prayers as we wait once again. 💚.
We will FIGHT for JUSTICE!
