Layer by Layer | Sag Harbor

Nothing a generous swath of Benjamin Moore Sea Pearl can’t help. 🤍

This Sag Harbor home was ready for a fresh perspective. We started by quieting the palette, then layered in natural textures, updated finishes, warm brass, and just enough contrast to give each space its own character.

From the kitchen to the bathrooms, every selection was made with the bigger picture in mind.

A lighter, more cohesive home—with plenty of warmth and personality.

Because sometimes the biggest transformation comes from knowing what to change, what to keep, and how to bring it all together.

Sloped ceilings. A window tucked under the eaves. Cutest little built in bookshelf.

The things that can make an old house tricky are often the very things that give it character.

Instead of trying to make the room behave like something it isn’t, work with what’s already there. Let the odd angles lead. Find the little opportunities. Make them part of the story.

Design thought: Sometimes the awkward parts become the best parts.

The Pumpkin Edit. 🎃

Okay, we’re ready.

Pumpkins on the porch, a few tucked around the house, and the glow of a pumpkin candle as the evenings get a little cooler.

Just enough fall without going completely overboard.

Some houses don’t need reinventing. They need editing.

This one already had so much character—original woodwork, leaded glass, beautiful floors, fireplaces and rooms with a story to tell.
We lightened. We edited. We rearranged. We layered in warmth, texture, pattern and pieces that felt collected over time.

The goal was never to make the house feel new. It was to let what was already special stand out again.

Design thought: Work with the house, not against it.
