The underglaze insanity continues. Filing these under “I really hope they don’t suck” but at least I will be able to do some touch ups after the bisque fire since I got them done now 🫠😅. So yeah - hopefully, hopefully, hopefully there will be some fawn pug ornaments and mugs on the way soon. Stay tuned. These will be going in to bisque firing this week, glaze firing this weekend or early next week if everything goes well 🤞❤️ hoping to have these with me in East Lansing for the Cracked Pot Tour at Fox Knoll Studio September 19-20!

(You knew there would be more pug mugs, right?)

This month at Lawrence Street Gallery - frosty blue handmade carved teapot. I took a workshop this past June with Bob Putnam at Clawson Clay Guild and I finally got myself around to finish one of my full pots. I forgot to film the pour test, but it has a lovely pour! Locking lid, carved texture, lovely display piece. Come and see it in September and October at 22620 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI!

Spent some time this week trying out something I’ve had in the back of my head for awhile. So far, so good. Can’t wait to see how these cups and vases come through the bisque firing and eventual clear glaze on the outside and inside accent glaze. For now, the watercolor effect on the chocolate clay is making me smile. Plus, who doesn’t like seeing some blossoms after the rainy week we just had? Just a home potter doing home potter things 💙

Should I call it a pug mug, do you think? Rhyming is good, right? ❤️

Finished just in time for Hazel Park Art Fair this weekend, this set of bottles can be used just about any way you want! Sold with oil spouts, they can also be used as delicate little bud vases for one or two blooms. I will also have a couple of the pictured bottle lamp adapters available for sale to turn your bottle into a decorative lamp (I am using one at my desk right now! 💗). As you can tell, I was mostly feeling soft blushy pinks and corals with this set - I have a feeling I won’t have them for long!

Find me in both #12 under the pavilion this weekend at Hazel Park Part Fair at the Green Acres Park - Hazel Park, MI. 11am-7pm Saturday August 22nd, 11pm-7pm Sunday August 23rd.

A tale of two Amaco flux glazes on the same clay body 💙 the bottle on the left has Honey Flux and nothing else on it - the chocolate clay and the reaction of the iron is the real star. The bottle on the right has Flux Blossom, a slightly rosy, warmer cousin. Again, the clayis the real star. Both work great, both have strengths. The Flux Blossom is ever so slightly glossier. Do you have a favorite?

Just checking the color of Flux Blossom (glaze on the bottom) for future projects. Mitts wasn’t phased at all! 😂 (probably because he has already inspected these bottles, so they are old news to him)

Confirmed, it’s the right sort of tawny color for pug fur. Filing that away….

😉
