Art Deco influence, reimagined for modern living ✨
For this Guildford project, we wanted the kitchen to feel elegant and characterful, while still working beautifully as the heart of a busy family home.
The soft ivory cabinetry creates a calm foundation, allowing the darker, more dramatic elements to really make an impact. The bespoke bar is one of the standout features of the room, with rich green marble, fluted glass, integrated lighting and warm brass detailing. The photograph barely does justice to the depth, movement and colour of the marble in real life.
Statement lighting, black-framed glazing and subtle Deco-inspired details continue the story, while the transition from large-format stone flooring to warm herringbone timber helps define the kitchen from the adjoining space without interrupting the flow.
It’s a balance we love — practical enough for everyday family life, but with those moments of drama that make a home feel truly special.

What if you could truly see your future home before a single wall is moved?
This reel is a glimpse into Stage 2 of our design process—Layouts & Conceptual Design.
For this wonderful couple, relocating from Switzerland to the English countryside, the brief went far beyond creating a beautiful home. It needed to be somewhere they could feel a genuine sense of belonging, while carefully accommodating their accessibility needs without ever compromising on style.
This is where the magic really begins.
Every page you see has been thoughtfully developed to help our clients visualise not only how their home will look, but how it will feel to live there.
✨ Space planning that improves everyday living.
✨ Design concepts that reflect their personality and lifestyle.
✨ Material palettes that create warmth and character.
✨ Joinery ideas that maximise function beautifully.
✨ A clear vision that gives confidence before moving into the detailed design phase.
Too often, conceptual design is underestimated.
For us, it’s one of the most important stages of any project. It establishes the vision, solves problems before they become expensive on site, and ensures every decision that follows has purpose.
By the time our clients leave this stage, they don’t just have a collection of ideas—they have a home they can already imagine living in.

Dear Bedroom,
It’s been a while.

I just wanted to say... I miss you.

I miss the textured wallpaper that I spent far too many hours choosing, only for everyone to casually say, “Oh yes, that’s nice,” as if it hadn’t consumed an embarrassing portion of my life.

I miss your beautiful tanned leather headboard, which travelled all the way from Marrakesh. Honestly, you’ve probably had more stamps on your passport than I have.

I even miss those tiny bedside tables. Yes, they’re small, but they’re perfectly functional. They hold exactly what they’re meant to and don’t bully you into filling them with junk. We love an overachiever.

And let’s not forget the wall lights. The original supplier pulled out at the eleventh hour because they couldn’t meet the installation deadline. Naturally. Because no renovation is complete without one tiny crisis that sends everyone into a mild panic. But, in the end, I think the replacements were exactly what the room needed.

People often see the finished room and think, “That’s lovely.”

What they don’t see are the hundreds of decisions, the sourcing, the late-night samples, the supplier dramas, the redesigns, the compromises and the tiny details that somehow take the longest.

Anyway, I hope you’re looking after your new owners.

I joke about it in this clip, but it’s something I hear all the time.
“We need five bedrooms...”
“It has to have an open-plan kitchen...”
“It must have a utility room, boot room, home office...”
Before long, you’re searching for a house that probably doesn’t exist.
The reality? You don’t always need to find the unicorn. You can create it.
The best homes aren’t necessarily the ones that tick every box on day one. They’re the ones with the right potential. With thoughtful design, intelligent space planning and a clear vision, you can transform an ordinary property into a home that works perfectly for the way you live.
Sometimes the biggest opportunity isn’t buying the perfect house—it’s recognising the potential in the imperfect one.

A little BTS from the last month at SP Interiors...
From client presentations and site visits, to sourcing trips, concept development, project installs and... apparently glamping in a bunny onesie. 🐰
One thing I’ve learnt is that inspiration doesn’t stick to office hours.
Whether I’m reviewing drawings, exploring new materials, visiting suppliers or sitting outside a tent dressed as a rabbit, the designer part of my brain is always switched on. Looking at textures, noticing colours, studying lighting, admiring furniture (obviously) and collecting ideas for future projects.
Because creativity isn’t something that only happens behind a desk.
Sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected places.
Although I can’t promise the bunny onesie is now part of the official SP Interiors uniform...

Designing for children is always special, but the best children’s rooms don’t just work for today—they evolve with the home for years to come.
For a new client project, we’ve been developing this magical twin bedroom for visiting grandchildren. Nestled within the eaves, the room is designed to feel like stepping into another world, with whimsical wallcoverings, rich colours, and a sense of adventure around every corner.
We wanted the space to spark imagination, encourage storytelling, and create those childhood memories that stay with you long after you’ve grown up.
But great design is also about versatility.
When the grandchildren aren’t visiting, this room transforms effortlessly into a beautiful guest bedroom, offering family and friends a memorable place to stay. The layered textures, timeless furniture, and sophisticated palette ensure the room feels just as welcoming for adults as it does enchanting for children.
The most successful spaces often have more than one purpose—and this one is designed to delight every generation.
