Turns out ”getting your life together for autumn“ just means lighting a candle before 6pm and calling it self-care.
This is the month our hand-painted ceramics and hand-blown glassware warm the atmosphere. Sunday roasts come back into rotation, and with them the proper table linen, the napkins, the candlesticks lit before it’s technically dark outside.
Our tableware is meant to be collected and mixed and matched — Portuguese hand-painted plates sitting beside Mallorcan hand-blown glasses, a European linen runner next to a jug still holding the last of the garden roses.
A good autumn tablescape isn‘t built by matching a dinnerware range to itself; it’s built from pieces with enough character to hold their own and enough restraint to let the food lead. Whether it‘s a candlelit supper for two or the first big family roast of the season, the right table linen, ceramics and glassware are what turn a Tuesday dinner into something worth sitting down for.
