I'd like to think I'm quite restrained when it comes to buying dahlias each season (restricted myself to only 18 new tubers this season 😂) and I wont spend any more than $15 on a tuber (sheesh have you seen how expensive some of them are $$$) BUT my one weakness is mystery tubers.
So when Kate - Dahlia Tuber & Flower Grower NZ opened their second sale and had a box of silly little tubers (her words not mine 🤭) they were in my cart and paid for before I could stop myself!

They arrived today and I literally did a happy skip when I got them out of the letterbox 🤗

Thanks Kate beautifully packed with a generous amount of tubers I cant wait to see what they turn into ❤️

As a flower grower I'm always thinking ahead, many months ahead (a large chunk of my mother's day flowers for May were planted out this month) and these carnations certainly have played the long waiting game.

Sowed the seeds in January and planted out as tiny seedlings in February they are finally starting to bud up and flower now.

Looking forward to putting them in bunches soon 🌸

🌻 Sunflowers 🌻

One day I'd love a whole field of them but for now its a row of them. Second succession planting today supervised by a tabby helper 🐈

This year we have favourites from last year - orange and gold lite plus some new ones on trial cant wait to see what they turn out like!

Its a gorgeous blue sky day and although its a bit cool the sun will warm things up 🌞 we have had lots of rain over the last few days which all the plants and flowers enjoyed and everything is just coming along beautifully ☀️

No flowers out on the stand this morning they will be back out tomorrow morning.

Enjoy the sunshine!

And the dried petal season is underway as wedding season arrives 🌸
I will be collecting bowls of flower petals every sunny day now to be dried and turned into petal wedding confetti 🎊

We are filling up quickly and already full for November and early December petals orders 🌸

Seems like it going to be a pink coloured season 🩷
