We’ve been making test tiles nonstop! Led by our intrepid studio manager, Julia, our apprentices and community members have made over 1200 test tiles this week. You read that right, OVER TWELVE HUNDRED! Why so many? Well we are prepping for John Britt to come on Friday and lead workshop participants through three days of intense glaze-making discussions and hands-on glaze mixing, and we need loads of testers. It’s been a lot of work but all our tiles are in the bisque kiln cooking now, so we are ready!

Check out our full lineup of classes and workshops at www.TheVillagePotters.com.

What a big day! And the response was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Our studio was filled with friends, students, artists, neighbors, and supporters who came ready to celebrate this new chapter with us. From packed demonstrations and a bustling gallery and tool shop to joyful conversations shared throughout the day, the entire event reflected the vibrant creative community that makes this place so special. We were also thrilled to have our local evening news, WLOS Channel 13, feature us in a story and kick off a live segment from our gallery.

To everyone who attended, volunteered, cheered us on, shared our story and supported us in ways big and small, thank you. Your encouragement, elbow grease, and financial support carried us through the rebuilding process, and your presence at this event made our reopening feel not just successful, but deeply meaningful. We are incredibly grateful to have such a passionate and generous community behind us, and we cannot wait to continue creating with you in this new space.
