A beautiful home is only part of the story. The real work begins with understanding the people who will live there. How they spend their days, what they value, what they want to hold onto, and what they hope this home will become over time.

That’s what guides every decision we make. Not simply what looks beautiful today, but what will feel personal, welcoming, and meaningful for years to come.

There’s something about a kitchen in the fall. 🍂

It becomes even more of the heart of the home. Morning coffee lingers a little longer, something is usually simmering on the stove, and everyone somehow finds their way back to the island.

I love designing kitchens with that kind of life in mind. Here, warm woods, brass, natural textures, and soft, creamy finishes create a backdrop that feels beautiful year-round, but seems to settle into itself especially well when the seasons begin to change.

The in-between spaces deserve their moment, too. 🤍

The hallway you walk through a hundred times a day. The pass-through that gives you a glimpse into the next room. The little landing at the bottom of the stairs.

At Libertyville, we treated these spaces as part of the story, layering in art, beautiful millwork, warm wood, collected details, and even the perfect spot to sit for a minute. Because when every corner is considered, the whole home feels connected.

The living rooms we love most have a little history, a little personality, and plenty to discover.

We think about the big pieces, of course. But we give just as much thought to what lives on the mantel, fills the shelves, hangs above the fireplace, and makes its way home because our clients simply loved it.

Those little layers are often what make a room feel most like theirs. 🤍

Blue has always felt like a neutral to us.

It can be deep and grounding in the kitchen, soft and tailored in a bath, enveloping in a dining room, or just enough of a thread to carry from one space to the next.

In our Lake Forest project, we let blue change its personality from room to room while still creating a sense of connection throughout the home. Proof that a favorite color doesn’t have to be used the same way twice.

The most beautiful kitchens don’t feel like everything was chosen at once.

They feel layered. A little old, a little new. Polished in some places and full of warmth in others. A vintage rug sits beside beautiful stone, dark wood gives the eye somewhere to land, and pieces collected over time feel just as important as those designed specifically for the space.
