Milan meets Chicago.

Last week, I had the pleasure of welcoming Eleventy Milano to Chicago to celebrate the opening of their first Midwest store on Oak Street alongside CULTURED (CULTURED MAGAZINE).

Good design, good company and a great addition to the neighborhood, with a portion of the evening’s proceeds benefiting the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago.

Meet AWANAY - Argentine Rugs ™️. Rooted in the remote landscapes of northern Argentina, the studio works with generations of expert artisans to preserve traditional techniques of spinning, dyeing, and weaving.

Using pure sheep and llama wool, each rug is made entirely by hand, from fiber to finished piece. Natural dyes, ancient looms, and the irregularities of hand-spun wool give every piece its own character.

At Sheridan Road, each piece was curated in conversation with the space around it. Scale. Placement. Color. The relationship to a piece of furniture, a material, or an architectural detail. Never art for art’s sake, but work that adds another layer to the story of the home.
