The design - and the whole vibe of the cloakroom at No.14 evolved from this stunning slab of leathered stone — the last piece left, with no further shipments on the horizon. That green! I’m so lucky that my client fell for it as hard as I did!

With the stone as our anchor, a dark and moody scheme (in all the best ways) evolved: woven grasscloth wallpaper, raw brass tapware, a monumental sculptural basin and a NZ-made brass-framed mirror. Layers of textures and striking, touchable materials all working to create an element of surprise and unexpected contrast to the light-filled hallway outside.

We’re staying at Treghan Lodge in Kerikeri and we could not recommend it more. Luxurious, tranquil and nestled amongst established gardens and the most beautiful spring flowers, it is a place where every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

Perfectly positioned to explore the Far North, it is within easy reach of Russell, Waitangi, the beautiful bays, and the tiny towns that make this part of New Zealand so special.

It feels especially lovely to return 11 years after helping Anna and Murray design the interiors of Treghan, and to see it looking every bit as beautiful as it did when we completed it. Timeless, welcoming and so lovingly maintained.

The second lounge at No.14 feels like one great big, warm hug.

Deep green walls and curtains cocoon the space while the oak cabinetry, book-lined shelves and mix of textures and materials add warmth and character.

It’s the perfect spot to curl up in front of the fire and settle in for the evening. 🔥

What a blast it was to be lead on a tour of some of our Auckland suppliers and showrooms by Zane Tate - the master of organisation and time management!
Anna and I had a blast spending time with old friends, new friends and people we spend a lot of time communicating with from afar.
We look forward to weaving some of our fabulous finds into our current and upcoming projects!

Hey! We’ve never entered a competition before so we thought we’d throw caution to the wind and submit both of our Nicholson bathrooms to the Trendz International Design Awards.
And look! We received highly commended for not one but both of them along with our great friend Amelia Minty - Yah!
We love great spatial planning and with the help of our incredible team of consultants, trades and suppliers we can pretty much do anything. Both of these bathrooms required careful consideration and bear no resemblance to their originals - we’re as delighted as our lovely clients with the results.

Dropped in to see these recently completed bathrooms for a very special client today - we’ve been working together for more than 10 years!
Against these paired back gentle backdrops we’ve dressed these spaces with confidence using towels, art and accessories. Hand crafted lighting by the very clever deborah sweeney ceramics and my favourite mirror maker Joska just make it all the more thoughtful and beautiful. NZ made just like the fabulous oil painting by Clare Matthews above the bath!

I love this view of our Northland kitchen and dining renovation where we transformed a pretty dark and seriously small kitchen space (& putting green…IYKYK) into this wonderful open, light filled, warm and inviting environment - a space for lingering and entertaining.
I’m lucky enough to be back in this home in phase 2 of the renovations and I couldn’t be happier to be here building on what we started.
